Hilary Ann Feldman

Founder, Executive/Artistic Director and Performing Member

" ....A breath of fresh air in this crazy world! With her generous heart, her tangible strength, and her fantastic voice, Hilary shines with a talent to share her stories with her audience… and you are always glad you are in that audience!”

~Karen Mason, Legendary
Broadway and Cabaret Star

Hilary is a Chicago-based singer and vocal instructor. She received a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Composition, with a voice minor, from the University of Illinois and a Post Graduate Degree in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music in Boston  After returning to Chicago in 1993, Hilary worked as a freelance audio engineer for a year before quitting that life and starting over as a performer.

For over a decade, Hilary was part of musical theatre productions at several Chicago area theatres, including the Ravinia Festival, Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre Oak Brook, Drury Lane Theatre Evergreen Park, Bailiwick Repertory Theatre, Centerlight Sign & Voice Theatre, and many others.  Then, she found cabaret.

Hilary now considers cabaret her true artistic home. She is a member of Chicago Cabaret Professionals and performs regularly as a soloist.  In Chicago, she’s been seen at Davenport’s, Maxim’s, The Park West Theatre, Drury Lane Water Tower Place, and many other public and private venues.   She has also headlined at The Metropolitan Room in NYC, and The Jermyn Street Theatre in London, England.

In 2005, Hilary was selected as one of only 11 cabaret students nationwide for The Art Of Cabaret program in Steamboat Springs, CO.  There, she had the privilege of studying and sharing the stage with cabaret greats Andrea Marcovicci, Karen Mason, Shelly Markham, and Barry Kleinbort.

Hilary’s debut CD, Flight, was released in spring of 2008 and was named “Cabaret/Folk CD of the Year” by Cabaret Hotline in NYC.

In addition to her active performing life, Hilary has been teaching voice and theatre for the past 16 years, and is currently on the voice faculty at the Music Institute of Chicago (Highland Park campus), as well as teaching from her private studio in Chicago, IL. She has served as musical director for over 20 area musicals and reviews.  In addition, Hilary has been a guest lecturer/instructor at the University of York in England.

Hilary's combination of passion for both her art and for humanitarian work, her organizational and people skills, her independent business experience, and her undying excitement and belief in what is possible culminated into the founding Acts Of Kindness Cabaret. Hilary is grateful every day for this organization, for the people it brings into her life, and for the opportunity to help make the world a kinder place, one song at a time.
